Dr. Aldrin Bautista
Dr. Aldrin Bautista has been at Dentist @ Westleigh since the practice opened in 2016. As principal dentist, he looks after a full range of dental needs and leads the clinic's work in clear aligners and dental implants. He first trained in Manila before requalifying in Australia, and over the past decade he has become a familiar face for families across Westleigh and the wider Hills District. The practice cares for patients of all ages, from young children through to grandparents.

Areas of focus
Dr. Aldrin has extensive experience across general and family dentistry, caring for patients at every stage of life. He also focuses on two areas where the consultation process matters most:

-
Clear aligners — for patients with alignment concerns who want a removable option.
-
Dental implants — for patients weighing up their options for missing teeth.
Â
His work in orthodontics is supported by a Mini-Residency in Orthodontics and further training in myofunctional orthodontics. Whatever the treatment, patients get a thorough assessment and a clear explanation of what's involved, what the process looks like, and what to expect, before any decision is made.
Professional philosophy
Dr. Aldrin's approach starts with listening. Before recommending any treatment, he takes time to understand what a patient is dealing with, what they're hoping for, and any relevant treatment or experiences they've had before. He works on the basis that patients make better decisions when they have good information, so consultations tend to be detailed and unhurried.

His own experience shapes how he practises. Frequent dental visits as a child are part of what drew him to dentistry, and he wants every patient to feel looked after rather than rushed. As he puts it, he tries to treat each patient the way he would a member of his own family. He has no interest in recommending treatment for its own sake. If what a patient needs is monitoring rather than intervention, that's what he'll say.

Away from the practice
It was the local mountain-biking trails that first brought Dr. Aldrin and his family to Westleigh, and he still rides them with friends and his kids whenever he gets the chance. The rest of his time goes to family, catching up on their activities, the occasional movie, and seeing friends.
